Miriam Heard’s After The Fog, a Chile-UK-France co-production, is among 13 films selected for the Works in Progress strand of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, the industry programme of Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (POFF).
Currently in post-production, Spanish-language drama After The Fog (Spanish title: Despues de la niebla) bears witness to the experiences of Chilean citizens in 1988, when the country ousted military dictator Augusto Pinochet after 16 years.

It is written and directed by Heard, and produced by Heard for her UK company Echo Art Films, with Dominique Rammsy, Stephanie Douet and Anna Holburn.
British-German filmmaker Heard is based in Chile; her debut feature Tierra Yerma played the festival circuit in 2016. She currently has two feature projects in development with UK producer Sarah Brocklehurst: I’m At Home Here starring Amir El-Masry and Naomi Ackie, and A Last Summer.
Other titles in the POFF Works in Progress selection include Mamifera, a comedy-drama exploring womanhood and motherhood, from writer-director Liliana Torres. Escape net about Dzidra Karamiseva – the first Latvian basketballer to play for the USSR. The best projects from the Baltic and International strands each will receive EUR7,000. POFF runs from November 3-19, with the industry programme from November 13-17.
