What We Do Next

Blue Fox has come on board to sell worldwide rights on the crime thriller What We Do Next starring Corey Stoll (Billions, Ant-Man) and will launch sales talks at EFM this week.

Stephen Belber (Match starring Patrick Stewart) wrote and directed the completed feature, which also stars Karen Pittman (The Morning Show) and Michelle Veintimilla (Gotham) and gets a US theatrical release on March 3 via Small Batch Studio Entertainment.

What We Do Next centres on a New York City politician (Pittman) climbing the political ladder who is forced to navigate her complicated past with a young woman recently released from prison (Veintimilla) and a corporate attorney with whom she shares an equally complicated history (Stoll).

Merry-Kay Poe’s Unbridled Films (Don’t Tell A Soul), Chris Mangano’s Movies & Media (Standing Up, Falling Down, Don’t Tell A Soul), and Max Neace produced the film. Brian Tanke, Stephen Belber and Matt Bronson executive produced, and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage co-produced.

Blue Fox head of international Lisa Gutberlet said, “We can’t wait to bring Stephen Belber’s brilliant story to audiences worldwide. Stephen’s screenplay, which is about race, class and social justice, was sharp and elegant. He also had a stellar cast that included Michelle Veintimilla, Karen Pittman, and Corey Stoll. This made for an exceptional thriller. It was rewarding, challenging, and a perfect example of what I want to be. To have Blue Fox not only recognise our efforts, but lend their artistic and industry expertise in helping us roll it out, makes me extremely proud and deeply grateful.”

Blue Fox Entertainment’s recent international sales titles include

One Winter starring Julian Dennison, Minnie Driver, and James Rolleston; family comedy Popular Theory with Cheryl Hines, Sophia Reid-Ganzert, Marc Evan Jackson; YA thriller Jane with Madelaine Petsch and Chloe Bailey; comedy Linoleum starring Jim Gaffigan and Rhea Seehorn; and Sahar Mosayebi’s Orca.Kristen Stewart to star as influential US writer Susan Sontag in Brouhaha Entertainment feature (exclusive)
