Surprised By Oxford

Mind The Gap Productions’ Giulia Prenna has commenced EFM talks on new romance Surprised By Oxford starring Rose Reid and has additionally closed a raft of North American and territory deals on several films led by The Modelizer.

Ryan Whitaker directed the completed Surprised By Oxford for Evolve Studios and Nook Lane Entertainment. It follows a brilliant and emotionally guarded PhD student who learns to show her vulnerability, and the cast includes Phyllis Logan, Ruairi O’Connor, Mark Williams and Simon Callow.

Prenna has been busy licensing territories on her slate since the AFM and has struck a North American deal with Vertical Entertainment on Keoni Waxman’s romantic comedy The Modelizer, about a Hong Kong bachelor who meets his match in the form of a Brazilian model.

Well Go has picked up North American rights and Bingo Films will distribute in Japan Billy Hanson’s action thriller Bone Cold, about a Black Ops sniper left to contend with enemy soldiers and a sinister creature after a botched mission.

Patrick Meaney’s completed musical romance The Brink Of has been sold to 1091 Pictures for North America, while Prenna has licensed Ethan Hickey’s romance Burden to Take One for Scandinavia and Film Fan Holdings for Benelux.

Jimmy Keyrouz’s Arabic-language drama Broken Keys has gone in Hong Kong (VII Pillars), Spain (SAMC) and Scandinavia (Take One). Prenna jointly represents North American sales with WME Independent.
