Kino has acquired North American Rights to SXSW Prizewinner

Story Ave – the debut feature film of music video director Aristotle Torres. Kino is planning a theatrical and digital release for the movie in October. Director of photography Eric Branco won the Special Jury Award at SXSW in Cinematography for

Story Avenue

. The film stars Luis Guzman, Asante Blackk and was directed by Aristotle Torres. The drama revolves around a South Bronx teenager artist who escapes to the world of graffiti after his brother’s death but finds a different path through his friendship a bus conductor. Co-written by Torres, Bonsu Thompson and Foxxhole Entertainment, Story Avenue is produced by FirstGen Content, Foxxhole Entertainment, Mero Mero Productions, The Space Program, and Dark Rabbit Productions. Lizzie Shapiro produced the film along with Datari Turner, Jamie Foxx, and Torres. Executive producers include Michael D’Alto for FirstGen Content; Randler Sandler, Claude Amadeo, Chris Triana, Martin Cabrera, Robert Aguilar, for Mero Mero; Luis Guzman, Cemi Guzman, for Dark Rabbit; Gus Deardoff, for The Space Program and Jan McAdoo.
