It is written and directed by Heard, and produced by Heard for her UK company Echo Art Films, with Dominique Rammsy, Stephanie Douet and Anna Holburn.

British-German filmmaker Heard is based in Chile; her debut feature Tierra Yerma played the festival circuit in 2016. She currently has two feature projects in development with UK producer Sarah Brocklehurst: I’m At Home Here starring Amir El-Masry and Naomi Ackie, and A Last Summer.

Other titles in the POFF Works in Progress selection include Mamifera, a comedy-drama exploring womanhood and motherhood, from writer-director Liliana Torres. The Spanish filmmaker had previously screened her second feature What went wrong? in POFF in 2021. Dzintars Dreigbergs, a Latvian filmmaker, will present the sports biopic

Escape net about Dzidra Karamiseva – the first Latvian basketballer to play for the USSR. The best projects from the Baltic and International strands each will receive EUR7,000. POFF runs from November 3-19, with the industry programme from November 13-17.
