Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan and Ben Kingsley are set to star in the film adaptation of Richard Osman’s best-selling crime novel

The Thursday Murder Club, according to Osman’s own podcast The Rest Is Entertainment. Chris Columbus will write and direct this film, which follows a group in a retirement facility who solve cold case for fun but become involved in a real crime. Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment is producing.Osman also said the production will take place from “the end of June to September” in England.

The fourth main character, a retired nurse called Joyce, has not yet been confirmed. Osman stated that “Joyce” is still under negotiation, but the name is what people shouted at him the most in the street. “There will be a lot more casting in the coming weeks.”

An adaption of the novel was confirmed for the first time in 2020, after Amblin Partners won the rights to the novel in a competitive bidding. Ol Parker was originally attached to direct.
