Netflix has revealed that it is making a Happy Gilmore sequel with Adam Sandler, a new film from Kathryn Bigelow and a feature adaptation of Ruth Ware novel The Woman in Cabin 10 with Keira Knightley starring. The announcements were made during the streamer’s presentation to advertising buyer during the US TV industry’s ‘upfront’ week in New York.

Happy Gillmore 2, or the Bigelow Project, but The Women In Cabin 10, directed by Simon Stone, will be produced by Debra Haward for transatlantic studio Sister. Ilda Diffley, the company’s executive producer, will serve as executive producer. Knightley will portray a journalist who is on a trip and witnesses a murder that takes place on a luxury boat. During its upfront session, Netflix announced two new dramas. The Waterfront
was written and executive-produced by Kevin Williamson, for Universal Television. The series is about a North Carolina fishing family that struggles to maintain control of their empire.
An untitled series featuring country singer Tim McGraw is set in the world competitive bull riding. Brandon Camp will be the creator, writer, showrunner, and executive producer of Skydance Television’s project.––
