Production will begin in Budapest for the next ‘Alien’ film produced by Ridley Scott

Production on 20th Century Studios’ new Alien film – the ninth in the sci-fi series – will commence in Budapest on March 9.

David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu have joined the previously announced Cailee Spaeny in the story about a group of young people on a distant world who confront the most terrifying life form in the universe.

Fede Alvarez, whose credits include Don’t Breathe, the Evil Dead remake and The Girl In The Spider’s Web, is directing from a screenplay he wrote with his frequent collaborator Rodo Sayagues.

Ridley Scott, director of the original Alien who produced and directed Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, and Michael Pruss (upcoming Boston Strangler ) are producing for Scott Free.

Brent O’Connor, Elizabeth Cantillon, and Tom Moran serve as executive producers.
